Всем привет Если вы заметили у себя такую службу как Alcohol Virtual Drive Auto-mount Service, то это означает, что у вас стоит программа Алкоголь 120 (о ней писал тут). Еще в автозагрузке что-то может быть от этой проги. Ну так вот, Алкоголь 120 это такая прога, которая создает в вашем компе виртуальный привод для дисков. В этот виртуальный привод вы можете вставлять виртуальные диски, ну то есть образы реальных дисков. Ну а эти образы уже можно скачать в интернете.
Служба Alcohol Virtual Drive Auto-mount Service вроде бы нужна для автоматического монтирования дисков. Но что это на практике я не знаю, однако кажется мне что останавливать эту службу не стоит. В противном случае программа Алкоголь 120 будет работать не совсем правильно.
Ну а теперь посмотрим на эту службу более подробно, может что еще интересного узнаем. Значит запускаем диспетчер задач, идем там на вкладку Службы, нажимаем кнопку с таким же названием Службы. Дальше в списке служб находим Alcohol Virtual Drive Auto-mount Service и жмем два раза по ней, в итоге у вас появится вот такое окошко:
Ну, что мы тут видим? Работает служба под процессом AxAutoMntSrv.exe, запускается который вот из этой папки:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120
У меня служба была остановлена, у вас наверно также. Но как я уже писал, служба нужна для какого-то автоматического монтирования образов. Там еще есть поле Описание, в нем правда на английском написано, а я в нем не бум бум. Но вроде бы написано что службу останавливать нельзя
Но если вдруг вы захотите отключить эту службу, то просто выберите в Тип запуска: Отключена и потом нажмите еще кнопку Отключена. И вуаля, вы вырубили службу
Но с отключенной службой могут быть проблемы в работе проги Алкоголь 120, учтите это. Но если вдруг вы этой прогой вообще не пользуетесь и думаете что она вам не нужна, то как ее удалить я писал вот здесь, можете глянуть.
Если хотите просто вырубить процесс AxAutoMntSrv.exe, при этом не отключая службу, то это тоже возможно! Но как? Очень просто, я уже писал как это сделать, только на примере отключения процесса BBSvc.exe, но думаю что и для AxAutoMntSrv.exe способ тоже подойдет, если интересно, то читайте об этом здесь!
И еще напоследок дам вам совет. Никогда не пробуйте вырубать службы просто так, ну мол чем меньше служб, тем быстрее работает винда (хотя доля правды в этом есть). Я так делал в Windows XP, там еще все было нормалек, а вот в Windows 7 и в более новых виндах, то тут уже опасность! Дело в том, что если вы ОТКЛЮЧИТЕ какую-то важную службу, то может быть такая ошибка серьезная, то вы даже не сможете потом ее обратно ВКЛЮЧИТЬ! У меня такое было, я потом не смог вообще ничего запустить, одни ошибки были, пришлось переустанавливать винду. То есть такая вот трабла может быть, будьте осторожны!

Win10 Virtual Drive Auto-mount service failed
I’m trying to install 2.0.3.8314. When i run the installer I get error: The Installation of Alcohol Virtual Drive Auto-mount service failed!
Looks like sptd 2.05 installs correctly.
Any help on this?

Does Alcohol works except for the automount at startup? You can try installing it in Safe Mode.

Until last week I had Windows 7. Everything with alcohol 120% was working just fine.
And I decided to upgrade to Win10. Right after I upgraded with all programs being kept Alcohol gave me error it couldn’t load the driver.
I decided to reinstall ( 2.0.3.76123 ). The installation failed, I restarted and after that point the installer gave me a warning: «You Must Reboot After Previous Operation!»
I did all kind of things: installin and uinstalling sptd, removing keys etc.
Fianlly I managed to install 2.0.3.8314. Right after the installation it worked fine. But after a restart when I open Alcohol there is no virtual drive.
When I checked the services Alcohol Virtual AHCI COntroller was running, while Alcohol Virtual Drive Auto-mount Service was not.
I tried to start the service but it stops right after that.

Please run regedit.exe (using Start -> Run or use [Windows key] + R) and then browse to the key below: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\0d79c293c1ed61418462e24595c90d04 (for 32bit system)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\0d79c293c1ed61418462e24595c90d04 (for 64bit system)
you should have an «r» value, please delete it and then try to re-install Alcohol.

Thank you so much. You soved a problem that it’s been bugging me for a very long time.
Now «You Must Reboot After Previous Operation!» can be easily overcome by just deleting the r key.
I installed Alcohol anew. But the problem with Alcohol Virtual Drive Auto-mount Service not running persists.
When I first launch Alcohol no virtual device is installed:
Moreover when I try to start Alcohol Virtual Drive Auto-mount Service it stops imediately.

Yes, I have. No matter how many drives I add from Options -> Virtual Drive -> Number of Virtual Drives, none are added in the end.

Please uninstall Alcohol and then SPTD with it’s standalone installer/uninstaller from www.duplexsecure.com. Reboot and then try to reinstall SPTD with it’s installer and then Alcohol.

I tried that again. Complete removal (registry as well). Then installed sptd from its installer and after that Alcohol. But the problem persists. I can’t add any virtual drive to Alcohol.
I beleieve the problem lies within the registry. If only I knew which one to change.

Please try the instructions below to fully clean Alcohol and SPTD from your system and try to install it again:
To uninstall Alcohol you should use the Uninstall icon on Alcohol program group in the Start menu. For the case you have deleted Alcohol Uninstall icon from Start menu you should just browse to Alcohol folder and manually run «uninst.exe».
If you are unable to uninstall Alcohol using the uninstaller (this means installation is corrupted) then please just delete all files from Alcohol folder (default: «C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120» or «C:\Program Files (x86)\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120» on 64-bit systems), then download and run the following tool to completely remove SPTD driver installed by Alcohol:

After removing SPTD from your system and restarting Windows as requested by the tool (please note that you may need to reboot twice in some cases, the tool will tell you) then please try to reinstall the latest version of Alcohol again.
Alternatively to the sptdremov tool you may remove SPTD manually, to do it please run regedit.exe, then browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ and delete sptd and sptd2 key (you may need to adjust cfg key permissions to delete it). Also please browse to c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers and delete sptd.sys and sptd2.sys file(s). Restart Windows. If you were unable to delete SPTD key in registry then please try to delete it again now, after deleting the driver file(s) and restarting Windows, or just try to remove it in Windows safe-mode, it is very important you delete this key.
If you continue having problems please try to temporarily disable (or even uninstall) your real-time antivirus, firewall or any other security software and try to install Alcohol again. We had some reports recently of anti-virus and security software (like ZoneAlarm, Spyware Doctor, F-Secure and PC Tools ThreadFire products) preventing SPTD to install and/or work correctly.
