PeerDistRepub — что это за папка?
Привет всем. В общем заметил у себя папку PeerDistRepub, стало интересно.. немного покопавшись в интернете, выяснил:
PeerDistRepub — папка по умолчанию локального кэша хранения информации BranchCache рабочей станции.
Как эту папку можно изменить? Дело в том, что существует команда netsh, у которой есть свои команды, вернее даже параметры выполнения, еще называют это ключами. Так вот среди параметров есть Set localcache — как раз этот ключ и позволяет изменить папку кэша BranchCache по умолчанию.
Путь папки по умолчанию такой:
Правда у меня ошибка при открытии — возможно потому что домашняя Windows, не серверная, да и у меня простой ПК, не рабочая станция то..
Такс, а чтобы сменить папку кэша.. то вроде как нужно в командной строке, запущенной от администратора, выполнить такую команду:
netsh branchcache Set localcache New\Folder
Только вместо New\Folder — указываете новое размещение папки. Хотя скорее всего вам это ненужно будет, но для общего развития думаю полезно будет знать.
Can I delete files from C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Local\PeerDistRepub\Store\0?
33% of my 500GB disk space. I found this using WinDirStat.
The question in this post is similar, but refers to files in \Local\Temp.
Is it safe to delete these files? What are they for?

Ran the command on my system and the c:\windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService directory shrank to 57.7MB.
Yes, you can delete files in this folder. See these threads.
This is a cache file for font, you can safely delete it.

Use disk clean up (build in windows) and see if it can remove it, i am almost sure it will, just click to clean up system files too at the bottom of window
There is a Delivery Optimization in settings used to share windows update files with other pc’s. See if you have that turned on.
You must be on some older version of Windows 10 and Windows Update decided that it is time to move on and upgrade you to the latest version. It shouldn’t take this much space.
a. Make sure Windows is up to date.
b. Then run Disk Cleanup and use the option to clean up system files. Select all items for cleanup.
c. Restart when done and then if the folder is still large you can delete files in it.
The research I have done suggests using Disk Cleanup. I also quote from a comment here (Friend Moab): netsh branchcache flush"
My folders (two computers here) are essentially empty (< 5 MB) and I keep Windows up to date and use Disk Cleaner (including System Files) weekly.

I have started to run very low on space on my c drive on my Azure VM which hosts SharePoint. I used space monger to identify the largest files and see more than half my space (
70G) is in c:\windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Local\PeerDistRepub\Store\0 .
See image attached. I ran PowerShell ‘Get-WSSBranchCacheStatus’ which returned ‘NotConfigured’.
I ran cmd command: ‘netsh branchcache show status all’ which shows about half of my hard drive taken up by Local Cache — see second image.
I ran ‘netsh branchcache flush’ and that released the space.
I guess this is a feature turned on in the Azure VM image for 2012 R2 Data Center?
Q. Do I need it? Can I move it? Can I turn it off? I am running a multi server SharePoint 2013 farm.
Below, is the visual representation of used space. You can see the files taking all my space are in orange and they are the cache files in the c:\windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Local\PeerDistRepub\Store\0 directory .
